KEYNOTE SPEAKER ANNOUNCEMENT

Joanna Geraghty '94, is the Chief Executive Officer of JetBlue.  She is the first female to take this role in the airline industry and will discuss how her studies as a sociology major at Holy Cross have contributed to her success.

CLUB EVENTS

5k Color Run

Saturday | April 27 | 10am-2pm

Women in Business invites you to participate in a Color Run on campus filled with vibrant colors! The first 100 individuals on the day of the event will receive tee shirts so be sure to arrive early. Event check-in begins at 10 am.

Registration requires a $20 fee, further donations welcome. A portion of the proceeds from the event will be directed towards supporting the great work of Sloan Kettering Hospital in New York City. Your participation will extend a helping hand to those in need.

DRESS FOR SUCCESS 2024

The WIB committee volunteered at Dress for Success, a local nonprofit that supports women’s economic development and independence. They used it as a team building activity to welcome new members and celebrate the leadership of the graduating seniors.


EMPOWERMENT THROUGH NEGOTIATION

Lily Puccia '19 delivered a powerful message to students, emphasizing the importance of not blindly accepting offers, particularly for women in the workplace. She urged assertiveness in recognizing our worth and advocating for what we deserve, cautioning against comparing ourselves to others for the sake of emotional well-being and personal growth. Lily shared her own transformation journey, highlighting the significance of embracing change and pursuing opportunities aligned with our passions and values.

Applications open every fall to students who attend the conference, with the intention of accepting four students per class year.  Applicants must submit a resume and complete an interview prior to acceptance.

THANK YOU TO OUR 2023 KEYNOTE 

Thank you, Christine Anderson '99, Global Head of Corporate Affairs and Senior Managing Director at Blackstone! She shared how she was a political science major during her time on the Hill who first went into government work but later transitioned to finance. Calling on her liberal arts education, she connected it to the work she is doing with Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) issues during an interview with Elisabeth Hiles, Senior Advisor to the Provost and Director of Strategic Initiatives, Office of the President at the College of the Holy Cross.

Holy Cross’ 15th Annual Women in Business Conference Shatters Attendance Record With Virtual Format

The conference provided opportunities for hundreds to network with and learn from successful women entrepreneurs and executives.

Networking & Collaboration: WIB and Dress for Success Story

The WIB student committee organized a meeting with the local Worcester Dress for Success organization to learn more about their goals and ways to support women during the pandemic.

Virtual Library

The Dinand Library has organized a virtual book display for current students who wish to read about women in the workplace, discover various resources and research methods.  Students can make an appointment with a librarian to learn more.

The Women in Business newsletter is a quarterly email announcement to share what is new with the conference, the student planning committee, and upcoming events for students and alumnae. 

Women in Business

Starting in 2006, the student-run Women in Business Conference through the Ciocca Center for Business, Ethics, and Society at the College of the Holy Cross has been an opportunity for alumnae and students to learn from one another and network. The annual event celebrates, honors and inspires the success of Holy Cross women in business. This conference has grown to a year round network with opportunities to connect throughout the year.

HCWIB supports dress for success

The Women in Business student committee supports the efforts of Dress for Success to empower women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire, and the development tools to help women thrive in work and in life.
